A meeting of the 27th session of the Cabinet of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Most Senior Minister Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, government ministers Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Mian Abdul Waheed, Ahmed Raza Qadri, Abdul Majid Khan, Faheem Akhtar Rabbani, Ms. Imtiaz Naseem, Ms. Taqdees Gilani, Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Chaudhry Akbar Ibrahim, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Muhammad Akmal Sargala, Sardar Aamir Altaf, Nisar Ansar Abbasi, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Diwan Ali Khan Chughtai, Malik Muhammad Zafar, Additional Chief Secretary Development, Additional Chief Secretary General, Principal Secretary, Secretary Information, and other relevant officials.

The meeting ratified the decisions made in the previous meetings of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet. The Cabinet approved the registration fee for divorce and granted approval for waiving off up to 200 units of electricity bills in mosques in Azad Kashmir where meters are installed. The Cabinet also approved the rightsizing of the Auqaf Department and formed a committee under the leadership of Minister Sardar Aamir Altaf Khan. The committee includes Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Ahmed Raza Qadri, and Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, and it will present its report to the Cabinet within seven days.

The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Criminal Law and the rightsizing of the Azad Kashmir Electricity Department. It gave approval to present the Azad Kashmir Building Control Act 2024 in the Assembly for approval. The Cabinet decided to present recommendations for a comprehensive transfer policy in the Azad Kashmir Education Department within seven days.

Additionally, in the Cabinet meeting, approval was granted for a committee headed by Minister Mian Abdul Waheed to review the report concerning illegal allotments in Langerpura and Thotha Satellite Towns. The committee will include Chaudhry Muhammad Rashid, Ahmed Raza Qadri, and Secretary PPH.
